Property data hygiene starts with one shared standard

By HotelOnline editorial team1 min read

Know what needs to be consistent

Property information appears in many places: room names, occupancy details, amenities, contact information, policies, and images. The important first step is to agree which version of each detail is the source the team will maintain.

Give updates a clear owner

When ownership is unclear, useful details become dated. Give each important information area a named owner and a simple review cadence. The task should be small enough to fit ordinary hotel work.

Check the guest-facing result

Review information as a guest sees it, not only as it appears in an internal system. A small mismatch in a room description or policy can create questions that the team then has to resolve manually.

Make the standard practical

A shared spreadsheet, checklist, or internal page can be enough. The value comes from using one standard consistently, not from making the process elaborate.
